Sports Star Awards

At a Gala Dinner in the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre in Castlebar Gary Ruane was presented with the Western People Merit Award for his outstanding contribution to Mayo football in 2004. The dinner was attended by a very large crowd including all the Ruane family and friends from Moy Davitts. Micheal O Muircheartaigh, the guest of honour for the night presented Gary with a beautiful Waterford Crystal Vase to mark the occasion. It will hold pride of place in the Clongee for many a year.
